Joana Lopes (Madeira Island, 1992) is a visual artist who found in abstract painting her most honest form of self-expression. Guided by instinct and inner impulse, her work unfolds freely, spontaneously, and with an intimate sense of truth. Each canvas becomes a journey into sensation. Through color, movement, and form, Joana invites the viewer to connect with what is raw, unspoken, and deeply human. Every brushstroke carries passion, determination, and authenticity.
Joana believes art can create a space where we come face to face with ourselves. Through her paintings, she seeks to build a visceral connection, encouraging others to recognize and embrace what lives within their minds and hearts. “Our inner states, whether light or heavy, are not flaws to conceal, but truths that shape who we are,” she says.
Her work welcomes every feeling onto the canvas, revealing not only color and form, but also a mirror of our inner landscapes.
